Inter University Students Federation convener Sanjeewa Bandara was arrested a short while ago by the Colombo Crimes Division (CCD), the Police said

The Police Spokesman SSP Ajith Rohana told Daily Mirror that Bandara was arrested for leading a group of university students to attack four police officers during a protest held on August 29, and vandalising property worth Rs 77,000.

“We have received information that Bandara had led the attack on the police officers during the protest held on August 29, with the participation of many other students. Four police officers were injured during this attack and hospitalised. During this attack they had also vandalised property worth Rs. 77,000,” he said.

Meanwhile, reliable sources revealed that Bandara had been arrested while he was travelling in a bus by CCD officers in civilian clothes. ( Jayashika Padmasiri)

Good. keep him in the prison. They are the ones who are ruining the university system. Country needs a good public universities as well as a quality private university system. Don't let them to ruin the higher education system of Sri Lanka. Well educated younger generation is the country's future.
