Oh don't make this as a big fuss.
We don't have money to start factories or run them profitable.
These two companies provides jobs for 150 Sri lankans.

How it that these companies are BOI registered, the very idea of BOI is that the company will provide a employment to Sri Lankans and not import cheap Indian labour. Someone at the BOI must answer the question and strip the company of its tax free concessions.

Ao almost 70% of the workforce is from rural places in India. Leaving aside the many labout laws AND immigration laws in the country that have been violated it's clear why he didn't want to employ Sri Lankans... Our trade union guys would've forcibly got the promised facilities or shut down the factory a long time ago...

All of your comments are very much relevant and true. But does honesty pay in Sri Lanka? If one person refuse the permit, there will be another hundred in queue to provide necessary permits.

Read the article. These are not Sri Lankans but Indian workers. This is a racket involving the BOI, the Indian Authorities, Sri Lanka Immigration etc. Cant you see? Its pathetic, how this country has been plundered by ALL and sundry. But all these will one day be done away with.
