Hirunika and eight others to appear before court tomorrow

Colombo Additional Magistrate M.M.H. Mihal, on Saturday, ordered the nine suspects, comprising MP Hirunika Eranjali Premachandra and her security officers, to appear before court tomorrow (12)

Ms. Premachandra was enlarged on bail with two sureties of Rs.100,000 each on Saturday, when she was produced in court after being taken into custody by the Colombo Crimes Division on the Attorney General’s orders over the alleged kidnapping of a man in Dematagoda.

She was taken into custody on Saturday morning and taken to the Crimes Division in Dematagoda where her statement was recorded. After that she was produced in court .

Counsel Upul Jayasuriya, who appeared on her behalf, requested court to enlarge her on bail as she had assisted the police in their investigations.

Police said all the suspects had now been identified and arrested.

Considering the submissions, the judge ordered the suspect to appear in court on the 12 th and granted her bail. (Nirangi Abeywickrama)

What was the part that she cooperated with the investigations? The perpetrators including herself were identified by the victim and thereafter by the police. The next stage was to arrest, arrest and remand. However, the police have again become punks to the minister and have submitted a sort of a false mode of "much assistance from her" type of a thing so that she could obtain bail. This is manipulation of the law, at high levels.
