Flights operate from BIA to Karachi



The first Karachi-bound SriLankan flight which was scheduled to take off from Colombo left this morning, the SriLankan Airlines said.

“The flights that were cancelled due to the attack by gunmen at the Karachi airport, will operate on the normal schedule from today,” Media manager Deepal V. Perera said.

The air bus UL 330 left Karachi at 9.20 a.m as other flights also resumed operation as normal to Karachi. Another flight is scheduled to take off from Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) at 1.00p.m today, he said.

Several flights were cancelled due to the terrorist attack on the Karachi airport which left at least 37 injured. (Chaturanga Pradeep)
