Mount Lavinia District Court today extended till September 5 the enjoining order restraining the UNP working committee from extending the term of office of party leader Ranil Wickramasinghe to six years
Mount Lavinia District Judge Priyantha Fernando asked the respondents’ counsel to present their objections on September 5. Of the 85 working committee members who were cited as respondents only 26 appeared in court. The others had claimed they had not received summons to appear in Court and as such the Judge directed that summons be issued on the 59 others to be present in Court on the next date of the hearing.
