Dayasiri to contest for parliament

North Western Province Chief Minister, Dayasiri Jayasekara said he would contest the upcoming General election on a Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) ticket.

“People have requested that I should contest the general elections and personally I think I should be in parliament again,” he said.

Mr. Jayasekara said he will continue in his position as Chief Minister until the general election. The SLFP is to decide on the next Chief Minister, he said. (Darshana Sanjeewa)

Once the Parlimentry system in introduced, do away with the provincials and get rid of the Thugs. Sri Lanka is too small to have the Provincil council system.
