Daughter abducted: Father says police doing nothing

A Kadugannawa resident stood on the roof of his car outside the People’s Bank building at Daladaweediya in Kandy in protest over the police having failed to conduct a formal inquiry into the alleged abduction of his 25-year-old daughter.

The protestor who identified himself as Wilbert Dayananda of Kadugannawa alleged that some men travelling in a VIP vehicle abducted his daughter but the police were doing little or nothing to trace her daughter.

However the police rushed to the scene and took him to the Kandy police station for further investigations.
