Don't ridicule china. Back in 1950's and early 60's the Japanese goods were also like this, always break down. But look where they are now !

If the OM are in Chinese Lang. that amounts to 'Breach of Contract' since it renders the product unusable ! Even if it was so its elementary & common sense to have it translated in English BY THE SUPPLIER. Nowadays you find Chinese toys, flash lights etc witn OM IN English.

Sub standard results may not necessarily be due to sub standard work. The work would have been done to specifications and those specifications may not coincide with the technicalities involved to run the plant properly but to help the one who ordered the work - It is known as international trade with swiss bank involvements.
Mr. B Wijeyasingha Friday, 17 August 2012 06:26 PM
Glad to read that China's presence in Sri Lanka is here to stay.

M.V.R.Perera Saturday, 18 August 2012 05:39 AM
Chinese technology in coal power is in par with any other country we should blame the Engineers or non engineers who Selected the Chinese Company to supply these plant. The CEB Engineers were critical of this plant as may be they were not involved in the specifying this plant and in the selection of the Chinese manufacturer
dandee Saturday, 18 August 2012 09:17 AM
Issue permanent residence visas to Chinese Engineers. they will stay here and repair as soon as brake down. Why not we allowing a china town in Colombo.
Brindley Fernando Saturday, 18 August 2012 12:49 PM
There are a few questions to be asked.
1) Was this plant new or second hand and who placed this order. Was this shipped to Sri Lanka direct from China or from another country. Did we use our diesel oil to function any part of this plant.
I am surprised that our technicians are unable to fix it as our chaps are far superior in handling anything
Abilashan Friday, 17 August 2012 09:26 AM
Then our guys are not said to be engineers, they are seekers..... :-@

Sapumal Bandara Friday, 17 August 2012 09:47 AM
HOW MUCH HAVE WE TAX PAYERS GOT TO PAY FOR THIS REPAIR TEAM. DOES THAT ALSO INCLUDE A 10% COMMISSION?
sanjeeva Friday, 17 August 2012 09:40 AM
as far as i know, all the operation manuals and technical sheets are in chinese and none of our engineers have been told about this matter.
as a result, we have to depend totally on them.
if we are to get the english version of the same, we have to pay a thumping amount
Freedom Friday, 17 August 2012 09:42 AM
