Video: Building collapses in Manhattan

A building collapsed in Manhattan this morning following an explosion, injuring more than a dozen people and scattering dust and debris across streets and sidewalks.

The New York City Fire Department said shortly after 9:45 a.m. it was responding to a building collapse and reported explosion in East Harlem.

The precise status of people in or around the collapsed building remains unclear. At least 16 people are injured. The New York Times is reporting that at least one person was killed, but this report has not been confirmed by authorities yet. And emergency responders are still working to find people at the scene, so it’s possible additional injuries will be reported. (Source: Washinton Post)
