A Consumer Affairs Authority official has been admitted to the General Hospital after he is alleged to have swallowed a blade which was inside a locally manufactured slab of chocolates, which he purchased from a shop in Minuwangoda, CAA Director General Chandrarathne Pallegama said.
The official had swallowed a part of the blade before realizing there was something unusual. The other half of the blade was found inside the other portion of the chocolate.

This is first time for CAA.But for us its usual. worms are free & normal even under aircondition supermarkets. We complain several time never feed back CAA. Its good for happen to CAA.

How could one swallow a blade. Chocolate melts in ones mouth before swallowing? Then he could have felt the blade with is tongue. This is a farce with a compensation law suit in mind.

CAA has been very ineffective in their service to the public (consumers). So, this is a good punishment for an officer from this ineffective service.

Seems something fishy here.. How come a consumer authority officer of all himself consumed the chocolate with blade? Such indecent have never being reported earlier and now it happened to a consumer authority officer... Count it be just a coincident... If the chocolate factory owner turned out to be a supporter of opposition, it would be a clearer explanation...

I doubt this should be a work of either a competitor or from insider who fell out drastically with the top management. News indicates the consumer affairs officer living in the same vicinity, and the chocolate industry comes under their authority, and also he did not realize when he chewing a chocolate - as there is a half blade - its strange.
Thorough invetigation shall be carried out and culprits to be penalized heavily.

I trust this is the work of the competitors or some employee who is not happy with the company. One day I bought a coffee packet and I found three or four nails in it. At that time I decided not to complain, but to avoid that brand. I think this has to be taken seriously as some body is playing with the lives of innocent consumers, for their own sake!
