Police spokesman SSP Ajith Rohana said the police would arrest Minister Mervyn Silva’s son Malaka Silva and six others alleged to have assaulted an Army officer at the JAIC Hilton.
“We have recorded several statements in respect of this incident. The Police have also scrutinized the video evidence that was available through CCTV cameras at the Jaic Hilton residencies. Therefore we now have sufficient evidence to prove that there is a case and we are taking action to arrest the two suspects named in the statement by the Army Major and also five other suspects” SSP Rohana said.

I am sure it was the Majors fault, Malaka would have never done anything like that if not provoked. People are trying to tarnish his name & spoil the fathers name. What the police should do is arrest the Major who was in the Hotel fro going there when Malaka was there. . . .All hail Dr Mervyn Silva & his blessed family. Let them rule this country the way they want to.

People in Sri Lanka are in a misconception that any alleged incident with the involvement of a politician or their off springs
the punishment should be meted out then and there. it is not so and according to the Judical procedure it is a long way to go.

Yes that is the truth! "Melaka will be arrested"!
when Melaka throws a punch injuring police officers in the face,
and slaps another police officer in his face,
and gives a black eye to another officer
and probably shoots another police officer to death, it is only then that we take action to unconditionally
release the captured Melaka because he has now proven a worthy murderer and cop killer deserving release. - SUBA ANAGATHAYAK!!!
