Alawwa blockade called off

The passengers who had been blocking the railway main line at Alawwa had called off their protest and let the trains move on the line, the Railway Control Room said.

The Control Room said that measures had been taken to restore railway transportation.

Altogether 15 trains were prevented from moving beyond the Alawwa Railway Station by several passengers over the delay in the Mahawa-Colombo office train this morning.
