A proposal to remove Wimal Weerawansa from the post of chairman of the Coordinating Committee of Kaduwela has been adopted unanimously.

Sixteen UPFA councillors of the committee voted in favour of the proposal, while NFF member Buddhika Jayawilal and the UNP council members were not present when the vote was taken.

In proposing this motion W. V .Suresh Priyadharshana, a council member said that Minister Weerawansa takes rash decisions and intimidates officials and thereby brings the government into disrepute and therefore is not fit to hold the position of chairman in the committee. He proposed that Minister Susil Premajayantha be appointed in his place.
