Durian trees take more than five years to bear their first fruit, with the harvest coming only once a year, and each fruit costing between Rs. 1,000 and Rs. 1,500. For many cultivators, this represents a long-term effort and a key source of income. When someone trespasses and steals, it is not just a minor theft. It is a serious violation of years of hard work. The problem is mainly with youth who rob just to eat, often littering the area and even breaking fences in the process. They are worse than pests. This kind of behaviour has become a real nuisance for those who grow durian. People must learn to respect private property, and those who take steps to protect it should be supported, not criticised.
