Woman injured in bus shooting

A woman sustained injuries after an unidentified person opened fire at her while she was traveling on a bus today, Police said.

According to police, one of the two persons on a motorbike boarded the bus and shot at the woman who was on the bus traveling from Ambalangoda to Koggalla.

The 47-year-old woman, who sustained injuries, was rushed to the Ambalangoda hospital for treatment.

Preliminary investigations have revealed that the injured woman is the mother of a suspect involved in a shooting incident that had occurred in July, targeting a man inside a residence in the Koggalla area.

Police are currently conducting further investigations to apprehend the suspects involved in the bus shooting incident.

What a laugh! 65 lakhs voted for the vociferous claim of the phottuwa candidates who vowed to eliminate bomb, gunplay and other forms of violence in the country highlighting the Easter Sunday attacks. Now it is far worse and there is no control and you are not sure atd what point these gnmen would appear suddenly and shoot out and vanish without a trail which is far more insecure than before. These people who came to power highlighting and campaigning should be now ashamed and gracefully admit their failure to achieve their false propaganda as honourable people.
