Woman dies, six wounded in Keppetipola road mishap

A woman was succumbed to her injuries while another six were injured when the van they were travelling in plunged down a precipice in Belungala in Keppetipola.

The injured were admitted to the Welimada Base Hospital.

The deceased was a 65-year-old female from Ridiyagama, Kurunegala.

They met with the tragedy while returning after visiting a relative in Bogahakumbura in Welimada. (K.R. Rajamanthri)

DRIVERS DRIVING LIKE MY BUS, MY ROAD LIKE THAT. PLEASE TRAIN THEM TRAFFIC RULES AND REGULATIONS. WALIMADA AND POLANARUWA UTTER USELESS DRIVERS

Very true. Traffic rules in Sri Lanka are horrible, Even Police officers bend the rules based on the bribes they get. Until the Police officers are strict are people respect the rules, deaths cannot be stopped.

Yes, you are absolutely right. Our bus drivers have a mentality that they own the road and even stop in the middle of the road to pick up passengers, creating inconvenience to the other drivers. Even the van drivers are reckless which result in serious accidents. Heavy fines should be imposed on the offenders. Besides, our police is very corrupted, the worst are the politicians. People are helpless.
