Kegalle, March 31 (Daily Mirror)- Claiming that the 'Yukthiya' operation nets only the minor offenders, NPP politburo member Samantha Vidyaratne said the National People's Power (NPP) will launch the real 'Yukthiya' operation under its government.
Speaking at the Kegalle District Women's Convention, he said drug smuggling is directly linked with politics.
"Drug smuggling is interconnected with politics. The 'Yukthiya' operation only nets minor offenders. The real 'Yukthiya' operation has not been launched. We will launch the real 'Yukthiya' operation under an NPP government. All the drug dealers, fruadsters and criminals must keep that in mind," he said.
He also said that the underworld culture is also nurtured by politicians for their own benefits.

Great. We need your action plan for the 1st and following years. If you don’t have, might be challenging to convince the people you’re the alternative to the current morons in power. Citizens are feedup with the current administration and wants an alternative. You need to put your heart and soul to get the act right or loose to these morons who are making it so unbearable to live in SL.

Introducing this shameful MPs pension is the last thing did by sirima government in 1977 with help of then opposition, but country has gone down wards till announces its bankruptcy, now many floating votes land on NPP party,for their promise of repealing this wasteful expenditure,even some SJB fellows too decided same, due to NO acceptable program parallel to NPP

Give six months to CID to investigate and produce a highly confidential report to the government to identify all internal high flying importers and operators of drugs. Then announce 3 months grace period to all to stop operations completely and declare their assets to government for taxing purposes. After 3 months period period arrest all noncompliant people and confiscate all assets. Run a prosecution cases under a new law enacted only for drug importers and distributors. People who use drugs are victims. Arrange a medical rehabilitation program to help them. If government needs, get help from a foreign government or agency.

Yes, go all out to eliminate corruption and give incentives to whistleblowers. This will get everyone to stop this vicious virus and help to rebuild the financial institutions in SL. Great need to make SL a clean and safe place to invest and remove the mentality of corruption is the only way to get things done.
