Colombo, October 25. (Daily Mirror) - Opposition MP Jagath Vithane questioned as to whether Sri Lanka is going to experience a spate of political killings with the latest developments, including the killing of the Weligama Pradeshiya Sabha Chairman.

The MP said this while revealing that a group of men had gone to his residence and inquired whether he had bodyguards and weapons.

"Are we going to see a series of political killings?" he questioned while speaking to the media.

No one will harm you because you are an MP. If you are targeted it will be criminals (to get money) or opposing underworld if you connected with an underworld group or victims of your past actions. Pls do a self assessment and take appropriate actions. If you are linked to underworld group or you have been mistreating people using your power, I wonder why we pay for your security. However, consult the IGP and I am sure he will protect you.
