Warning of cyclones is not opposition’s job : Marikkar

Colombo, Dec, 9 (Daily Mirror) - Warning of impending cyclones is not the opposition's job, Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) MP S.M. Marikkar said today.

The MP was referring to a comment made by Deputy Minister Mahinda Jayasinge that the opposition should be held responsible for its failure to inform the details they were aware of about the recent cyclone.

"Can't Deputy Minister Jayasinge realise that he is a member of the government? He seems to be acting like an opposition member," the MP said.

Opposition member or government member it doesn't matter, if something is dangerous to people, it's everyone's responsibility. I think that's the reason we are called CITIZENS.

The most important point he should learn is not to talk of subjects , specially technical as he is clueless. His ignorance and IQ is badly exposed. The "drain of the bath tub" by a SJB stalwart was another example, specially the Kothmale tank.

Please explain in detail what the SJB as the main oppositions function is? In what we see mud slinging, finger pointing, looking for opportunities to incite the public to bring down the government un democratically. Come to parliament yell at the top of your voices and leave 75% of the opposition benches empty each day the parliament is in session. Remember one and all are citizens and its the civic duty to ensure we care for each other.
