Walapane quarry licence suspended: Nuwara Eliya GA

The licence of the Walapane quarry had been suspended following the Walapane landslide tragedy, (GA) Rohana Pushpakumara said. 

He said the decision was taken following discussions held at Nuwara Eliya today.

An 18-year-old female was killed and three others went missing when an earth embankment collapsed on a house at Malapattawa in Nuwara Eliya on November 31. (Shelton Hettiarachchi)
