Reaffirming its long-standing partnership with Sri Lanka, VFS Global has extended support to the country’s official flood relief efforts, offering financial assistance and mobilising employees to help affected families.
The VFS Global said in a statement that reinforcing its long-standing partnership with Sri Lanka, the organisation has made a contribution to the Government’s official Flood Relief Fund established by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to aid urgent relief and recovery operations.
The contribution is expected to bolster the provision of essential resources such as temporary shelter, medical supplies, and logistical assistance, helping affected families rebuild their lives following the disaster.
Operating in Sri Lanka since 2004, VFS Global employs local staff across Colombo and Jaffna. Through its corporate volunteering programme, the company has consistently supported community development initiatives, reflecting its commitment to creating meaningful and lasting impact in the communities it serves.
As part of the ongoing relief efforts, VFS Global employees have also come together to provide essential supplies to families affected by the floods, further strengthening the organisation’s community-focused support during times of national hardship.
Commenting on the initiative, Yummi Talwar, Chief Operating Officer – South Asia, said, “Our thoughts are with the families who are experiencing immense hardship. As a long-term partner to the country, we stand with the people of Sri Lanka during this challenging time. Our support reflects our commitment to responding with care, compassion, and solidarity whenever communities need us the most.”
VFS Global currently supports 24 client governments in Sri Lanka, facilitating smooth cross-border mobility and supporting the travel aspirations of thousands across the country.
