Update: Aura Lanka Chairman remanded

May 22 (Daily Mirror) - Aura Lanka Chairman Viranjith Thambugala has been arrested by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID).

Police said Thambugala was arrested over allegations of several financial frauds.

He was remanded until May 27 by the Colombo Magistrate's Court..

Well if claims of corruption as a repeatedly playing record over the years could be backed with substantial/tangible and admissable evidence in a court of law, then that is it. But the big question is only if it is possible with hard evidence. The yahapalu regime with its leaders and one of their backer by way of the leader of a maxist party who now making big noises in the opposition headed a commitee and the special could not do it, isnt it? Well, anyone can keep saying Rajapaksa corruption but there must be evidence and proof. The same AKD led anti corruption group under Yahapalanaya and was at temple trees for 5 years to catch the Rajapaksas. Of course 49% of the country and all the Tamil diaspora is against Rajapaksas. Main reason being killing Prabhakaran.

I think this is the guy who is attempting to cultivate thousands of hectares of aloe vera in tract 18 of Rajanganaya, horrendously destroying the environment and taking the law into his own hands. He deserves this treatment. The damage he does to the livelihoods of the farmers is irreversible.
