The USA should intervene to ensure that the local government elections are held in Sri Lanka, a Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) member said today.
Samagi Tharuna Balawegaya (SJB Youth Wing) National Organizer Chamith Wijesundara told a media briefing that USA should intervene through its Ambassador Julie Chung to convince President Ranil Wickremesinghe to hold the LG polls. “Ms. Chung is a good friend of President Wickremeisnghe,” he said.
“US President Joe Biden assured that his country would not allow democracy to die in any part of the world and therefore, he should intervene in resolving the issue pertaining to the local government polls,” Wijesundara added. (Yohan Perera)

For the past few years SJB had been saying the most absurd things, from spot elections to US intervention. SJB is like a spoilt little kid on the block.

When the Ejections Commissioner publicly stated that today 3rd March they will announce the new date, Sajith and some others are making a big noise to portray to the innocent voters that it is them who agitated and got the elections fixed. This is the type of deceiving that the citizens are fed up with. Same with all parties even the JVP who supported enough corrupt parties and disrupted many good initiatives are now portraying to be the innocent saviors of the nation. We need more sincerity if systems are to change. Corrupt citizens deserve the govt they get.

SBJ leader, Sajith is saying he wants the Death Penalty implemented. His party people like Eran already speaking against it. Sajith is power mad, and unless US does direct intervention like invasion, or force IMF to wit hold funds no election is going to happen. US cannot invade our country for being too scared of India and China, and if they block for IMF funds they will face the wrath of China and India combined again. US is all loud meaningless bark, but unable to forward for democracy here. And Sajith is mad.

Okay then what do you think about Maitree,Gota and Mahinda all three them were elected by the people, now we are suffering because of the mistakes made by them. SJB is not a one man show party same with NPP.look at Ranil we saw how he behaved in the parliament.

As the leader of the opposition, Sajith Premadasa must take initiative and write to the Governments of the USA, European Union, Australia, Japan, and South Korea, etc, and also to the UN, WB, and IMF, and ask them to act against this undemocratic Government.

Sajith addresses political meetings on a daily basis.He should come prepared as to what he is going to speak on as otherwise he utters something very puerile not becoming of a Leader. He should promote the SJB by talking of its virtues and not by condemning another like the NPP as it gives a bad taste.
