UAE sends 8th humanitarian aid flight to Sri Lanka

Colombo, Dec. 9 (Daily Mirror) - The United Arab Emirates (UAE) today dispatched its eighth humanitarian aid flight to Sri Lanka, delivering 27 metric tons of relief supplies for those affected by Cyclone Ditwah.

The consignment arrived at Bandaranaike International Airport aboard a C-17 aircraft, the UAE Air Force’s largest cargo plane, which landed at 1:20 p.m. from Abu Dhabi.

Officials reported that the flight carried 1,080 food packages, each designed to support a family of eight for 14 days.

The aid was officially received at the airport by UAE Deputy Ambassador to Sri Lanka Rashed Ali Mazrouei, alongside representatives from the UAE Embassy, Sri Lanka’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Disaster Management Centre.
