U.S. strikes on Venezuela may affect local fuel prices: Cabinet Spokesman

Colombo. January 6 (Daily Mirror) - Cabinet Spokesman and Minister Nalinda Jayatissa today said that following recent U.S. strikes on Venezuela, fuel prices on the world market are expected to change, which could in turn cause fluctuations in local fuel prices.

He added that the government cannot currently predict the exact impact on domestic fuel prices. “At present, we are observing price fluctuations in certain goods and services,” Minister Jayatissa noted.

According to him, the Finance Ministry and relevant ministers will take appropriate decisions in response to changing conditions.
