Two units of Uma Oya Hydro Power Plant to be completed by September: Kanchana

Unit 1 and 2 of the Uma Oya Hydro Power Plant will be available for power generation to the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) from August 2023 and September 2023 respectively, Power and Energy Minister Kanchana Wijesekara said.

He tweeted that Farab, the construction company of the Uma Oya Multipurpose Irrigation Facility had informed of this to him during a meeting.

“120 MW of hydropower will be added to the national grid once it is completed,’ he tweeted.
