Ten political parties submit proposals to PSC on election law reforms

Ten recognized Political Parties have so far submitted their proposals to the Parliamentary Select Committee appointed to identify appropriate reforms

of the election laws and the electoral system,Leader of the House Minister Dinesh Gunawardena said.

The deadline for political parties to submit proposals expires today, he added.

Meanwhile, the Secretary to the Committee, Chief of Staff and Deputy Secretary General of Parliament Kushani Rohanadheera stated that the Committee has received atotal of 138 proposals so far.

People’s Action For Free and Fair Elections (PAFFREL) submitted their propsals to the Committee yesterday.
