T-56 firearm thrown into private institution, two remanded, one granted bail

Colombo, Dec. 29 (Daily Mirror) - Two suspects were remanded till January 8 by Colombo Additional Magistrate Nuwan Kaushalya today in connection with an incident involving the throwing of a T-56 firearm into a private institution.

The third suspect was released on bail by the magistrate today.

The order was made after the suspects were produced before the Colombo Magistrate’s Court.

Informing court, police stated that a T-56 type firearm had been found inside a private institution on the 24th. Further investigations, including the examination of CCTV footage, revealed that three individuals had thrown the firearm into the premises.

Accordingly, police informed court that three suspects were arrested in connection with the incident and produced before court for further proceedings.
