Suspect dies in police custody in Mahiyangana

Colombo, Nov. 3 (Daily Mirror) - A 46-year-old suspect, arrested on two court-issued warrants, fell ill while in the custody of Kandeketiya Police and died after being transferred from Kandeketiya Divisional Hospital to Mahiyangana Base Hospital on Sunday night (November 2).

The deceased, Navaratne Mudiyanselage Ajantha Pushpakumara, was a resident of Meegahakiula.

A postmortem examination is scheduled to be conducted today at Mahiyangana Base Hospital.

OIC Madolsima Police, CI H.P. Disanayake, is conducting further investigations under the instructions of ASP Wehitha Deshapriya.
