Suspect ‘Midigama Chuti’ extradited from Oman to Sri Lanka

March 30 (Daily Mirror) - Prabhath Madusanka, alias “Midigama Chuti,” an alleged member of an organized criminal gang, was brought back to Sri Lanka early this morning following his arrest in Oman.

He arrived at Bandaranaike International Airport at 4:27 a.m. on SalamAir flight OV-437.

Madusanka had been taken into custody last year by Omani authorities based on an international red notice issued against him. A team of three officers from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) traveled to Oman to escort the suspect back to the country.

Upon arrival, he was handed over to local authorities. After recording his statements, officials have initiated steps to transfer him to the CID headquarters in Colombo for further investigations.
