Supporters clash in Negombo; one hospitalised

A clash between supporters of two politicians in the Negombo area today has left three people injured of whom one had been hospitalized.

The clash had erupted allegedly between supporters of State Minister Sudarshini Fernandopulle and Katana electorate Chief Organiser Rose Fernando, Police said.

It had taken place while the supporters of Ms. Fernandopulle were clearing a road in the Udangawa area which was to be concreted under a government project. (Hubart Fernando)
