Submit list of SJB MPs who reject cabs: Bimal tells Madduma Bandara

Colombo, Nov. 19 (Daily Mirror) - Leader of the House, Minister Bimal Rathnayake requested Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) General Secrerty Ranjith Madduma Bandara to submit a letter with the names of the SJB MPs who do not require cab vehicles to be provided by the government.

Minister Rathnayake made the request in Parliament after MP Madduma Bandara stated that the SJB MPs have not requested any vehicles.

"SJB MPs have not requested for vehicles. We urge the government to provide vehicle permits to the professionals," he said.

MP Madduma Bandara said JVP MPs had obtained the vehicle permits issued by previous governments even though they have suspended issuing permits to the professionals.

Minister Rathnayake said JVP MPs had obtained vehicle permits but had never sold them. 

"We imported vehicles at the lowest price at that time for around USD 11,000 or 15,000," he said.
