Strong winds continue; Naval and fishermen warned

Strong wind condition preailing over the country and surrounding sea area was expected to continue until August 18, the Meteorology Department said today.

The Early Warning Centre of the Department request the naval and fishing communities to be vigilant in this regard

The Department said the sea area extending from Puttalam to Trincomalee via Mannar and Kankesanthurai and the sea area extending from Hambantota to Batticaloa via Pottuvil could be rough at times as the wind speed can increase up to 70-80 kmph.
