Stripping, assaulting women despicable: Geetha

State Minister of Women and Child Affairs Geetha Kumarasinghe condemned the assault of two women who were stripped and recorded on video by a group of men after being discovered with a monk.

"The disciplinary issues of the monk can be dealt with separately. But, how the women were stripped naked and assaulted was despicable. No person has the right to do that," she said.

The minister said that prompt legal action will be taken against the perpetrators.
