SriLankan Airlines operates special charter flight from Colombo to Rome

Colombo, March 9 (Daily Mirror) - SriLankan Airlines has operated a special charter flight from Colombo to Rome today to repatriate a group of citizens, following a request from the Italian Embassy, informed sources said.

When contacted, a spokesperson for the airline confirmed that the flight was arranged at the request of a Europe-based embassy to facilitate the return of their citizens from Colombo to Rome.

Despite circulating reports alleging that the flight was operated for other purposes, the airline firmly denied these claims, reiterating that it was a charter flight specifically organized to repatriate citizens.
