Colombo, March 30 (Daily Mirror) - Sri Lanka' s security has become fragile because of the Middle East conflict, Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa said today.

"Sri Lanka's situation has become fragile after the attack launched by Houthis in the proximity of the Bab al-Mandab Strait," Premadasa said during a ceremony at the Jayashekarama in Sri Jayewardenepura.

LK, absolutely correct home gardens must be introduced with Govt handing out seeds of crops suitable for the area a home garden is being set up to assist those who take up the offer, this will give the opportunity to citizens to grow vegetables and greens to meet some of their needs. As for those who have more space than the city and town residents will have especially in villages, it is possible for them to go it alone and sell their excess to a co-op. Farmers too can get involved, especially those who are struggling financially and or have not bothered to sow crops.

So true. In another couple of months the availability of food will be uncertain. Please spread the word about home gardening. People can grow vegetables in containers even in apartments.
