Several Sri Lankan cricket players touring Pakistan have sought permission to return home, expressing concern for their safety following a bomb blast in Islamabad.

Informed sources said that efforts are underway to persuade the players to fulfil their commitments, with Pakistani authorities providing strong security guarantees and holding multiple rounds of discussions with Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC). Despite these assurances, the players remain hesitant.

Sources indicate that SLC is exploring the option of sending a replacement squad to Pakistan to complete the series if the current players refuse to continue.

If it is indeed fear for their lives that they want to return, then how can you even think of sending another squad??? Won't they be in danger too???? Do not lure them to go, offering money!!!!

What nonsense to send a replacement squad to be sent by SLC. Please do not undermine the Cricket by doing foolish things to complete the series because by sending a replacement and if they do not match expectations it is not individuals who matter it is SRI LANKA CRICKET TEAM. This armchair practictioners should always look at the ground situation and if the team is playing under tension we cannot expect the sri lanka cricket team to deliver although there are guarantees made by human beings but it matters the lives of the cricket team and their families.Always check to the history of matches played in Pakistan. We cannot appease anyone so we need to be prudent to take decisions correctly as the saying goes "PREVENTION IS BETTER THAN CURE"!!!!!
