Sri Lanka wins first Gold at Asian Beach Games 2026

Colombo, April 29 (Daily Mirror) - Sri Lanka secured its first gold medal at the Asian Beach Games 2026, with Air Force wrestler Nipuni Wasana Dharmadasa clinching victory in the women’s 50kg category.

Representing the Sri Lanka Air Force, Dharmadasa defeated her Vietnamese opponent in the final bout.

According to the Sri Lanka Air Force, the win also stands as Sri Lanka’s maiden gold medal at the 2026 edition of the Games currently underway in China.
