There are many untapped gem resources in this country due to bureaucratic red -tape and officialdom restricting mining activities and before embarking on foreign resources we should liberlize our mining activities.
Revamp Ambassador Postings Sunday, 10 March 2024 06:42 AM
Absolutely. He’s too free as not much of Sri Lanka activities to manage. Now finding ways to justify his position. All ambassador’s stationed in 3rd world countries with hardly any Sri Lankan’s investments should be based in Colombo and not in the respective countries. I guess another 5 to 20 layers of embassy staff to support the ambassador plus his and their lodgings too.

SL digs holes in the ground and calls it mining maybe they have improved a little now.Mining in general is capital intensive sophisticated at international level .Better option develop the gem industry in SL full of potential if handled transparently and scientifically and graphite in SL

We mine graphite but export the raw material to many countries without manufacturing products. This is our foolishness. We do not have Industrial Development Ministries with proper competence leave alone even Presidents and Prime Ministers. A massive change can happen only when Jaffna Tamils who are the intelligent lot of the country can hold positions such as President, Prime Minister, Top Military positions etc... Until then lets say "Ohoma Yang" and "Dan Sapada" and carry on.

Rajapaksas' black money getting washed!
Tissa Fernando Sunday, 10 March 2024 06:18 PM
They will get their money washed away for ever if this is what you think is happening. They will never get their money back once invested in Africa. Africans are far more smart than Rajas who worship Ghanakka.
Tissa Fernando Sunday, 10 March 2024 05:18 AM
If you invest in Africa , you will loose all your investment. Arab's invested a lot in these countries and lost money. These guys are now approaching us because no one else is coming to invest in their corrupt and unstable countries.
