Sri Lanka Tourism sees positive start in 2026 with over 131,000 arrivals



Colombo, January 17 (Daily Mirror) -The Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA) said that a total of 131,898 tourists have arrived in the country during the first 15 days of 2026.

According to the authority, the highest single-day tourist arrival for the period was recorded on January 15, when 10,483 tourists entered the country.

India emerged as the top source market, accounting for 23,786 tourist arrivals during the first half of the month. This was followed by Russia with 14,785 arrivals, the United Kingdom with 12,166, and Germany with 9,260 tourists.
