Roshan Ranasinghe, Sri Lanka's Sports Minister, has urged the ICC to reconsider its requirement for the International Sports Coordination Committee on Cricket (ISCC) to be endorsed by Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC). In a letter to Geoff Allardice, ICC's Chief Executive, Ranasinghe cited ongoing turmoil and financial misconduct allegations within SLC, highlighted by Sri Lanka's Auditor General. Ranasinghe emphasized his accountability to Sri Lanka's leadership and the need for transparency and good governance, in line with the ICC's anti-corruption policies. He urged the ICC to take a keen interest in SLC's financial matters and reconsider the endorsement requirement, aiming to combat misconduct and corruption within Sri Lanka Cricket.

Dear Hon Minister; As a cricket lover, I thank you for sending this letter to ICC. However, it is ICC's policy to protect corrupt governing bodies of cricket in the world and hence it is hard to expect a favorable response to your letter. In any case do not give up and stand firm.

When politicians try to have a hand in the affairs of the Cricket Board it takes a different turn of manipulating since this is a Gold Mine. Truthfully have politicians of the ruling government being transparent and shown commitment to set an example to others and above Board in the past to entrust them with anything. "SO BE CAREFUL IT IS LIKING HANDING THE FOX THE HENHOUSE TO SAFEGUARD"

What a disgrace for these office bearers, who have been year in year out manipulating small clubs to get votes. This kept them in office although presidents by name changed the operation was the same. They made this their means for living a luxurious life whereas the standard of the game declined. Wonder how a gentleman like Sidath will survive with these thieves {as per Minister}. Well done Mr. Minister use the strong hand to uplift the game of cricket.

Please do not say something else always to cover someone else's problem. If we keep doing this thing, we won't get a chance to get rid of any corruption from Sri Lanka. This is what is happening now.

How can the ongoing turmoil and financial misconduct allegations within SLC, highlighted by Sri Lanka's Auditor General and the need for transparency and good governance be looked into by Dharmadasa and Rajapakse. I am surprised Sidath agreed to serve with these two. Was'nt a Dharmadasa involved in a scandal on the recent T20 in Australia and of course why is Dealdasa's son in this..

If ICC does not agree with the request of the Minister of Sports, so be it. It is better to play only domestic cricket rather than let this corrupt SLC run and ruin SL cricket and be humiliated as SL having to qualify for World Cups and getting entire team out for 50 runs at home in 15.2 overs. It has never happened to a SL Cricket Team even before SL got full membership of ICC.

Take action against all those corrupt SLC official's as per the Auditor General's report
A Third Man Tuesday, 03 October 2023 03:56 AM
Dear Minister of Sports. Now you must take legal actions against SLC recommended by the Auditor General. If further laws are required, get new laws enacted by the Parliament. Do NOT care about threats or actions that ICC may take. If you do NOT have confidence to do that, please resign and allow someone else to do that.
