Special exposition of Sacred Relics of Buddha at Gangaramaya Temple



Colombo, January 17 (Daily Mirror) - A special exposition of the Sacred Relics of the Buddha, brought from India, will be held at the Gangaramaya Temple from February 4 to February 11, Minister of Buddhasasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs Sunil Senevi said.

He said the sacred Relics of the Buddha will be brought from India for the exposition following a request by President Anura Kumara Dissanayake from Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The Minister said the special exposition is organised with the patronage of the Indian government and the Sri Lankan government.

He said a preliminary discussion was held in this regard with the participation of the Ministry of Buddhasasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs, Department of Buddhist Affairs, the Indian High Commission and a special delegation arrived from India for the event.

The Minister said further details regarding the exposition, including the time of the exposition, will be announced shortly.
