Sooriyawewa Pradeshiya Sabha secretary arrested for soliciting Rs.50,000 bribe

The Sooriyawewa Pradeshiya Sabha secretary has been arrested by Bribery Commission (BC) officials while soliciting a bribe of Rs.50,000 at the Pradeshiya Sabha.

Director (Investigations) of the Bribery Commission SSP Nuwan Asanka said he was arrested following a complaint by an individual from Ambalantota.

The arrested suspect will be produced before the Hambantota Magistrate's Court today.(Darshana Sanjeewa Balasuriya)

When the Case is taken up in Court, there will be some flaw made by the BC in the prosecution which will result in the Case being dismissed ? This is the usual game .

The suprise would be if there was no finding of corrution in these bodies. LG bodies, like Provincial Councils and Parliament are all cesspits of corruption. Only those in Parliament know how to better hide their misdeeds.
