Assuming it took everyone 10 minutes to do this, we end up with 1 million hours wasted time. At LKR 300 an hour, that's a loss of LKR 300 million. Added to this are the costs for the system and its implementation. Was it worth the hassle for a dysfunctional system designed only to boost the reputation of an unsuccessful minister?

What is 10 minutes compared to 46 hours I spent in queue to get petrol. Now no body complains of fuel queues and to a certain extent every body get fuel as per quota. What a relief?

Not even 3 minutes to register.
What is wrong with you. Most of the drivers spent many days on queue for filling fuel. You talk of 10 minutes

Don't talk nonsense! Maybe you are a 3 wheeler owner who siphoned off all the fuel to sell at black market rates and made the entire country suffer. The QR system by far one of the best solutions in a long time in SL to overcome a burning issue. People who bring down such systems belong to that calibre who are jobless and wish to join a qué to get whatever possible.

QR code is used by millions and scanned trillions of times. It was developed way back in 1994 by a Japanese car manufacturer. In Sri Lanka, unfortunately it is magic. Do people talk of Sri Lanka being an IT hub.
