Sharp temperature contrast across island as Nuwara Eliya drops to 7.8°C



Colombo, March 25 (Daily Mirror)  - Sri Lanka experienced a marked contrast in minimum temperatures today (25), with Nuwara Eliya recording the country’s lowest at 7.8°C, the Department of Meteorology said.

Cool conditions persisted across the central highlands, with 14.0°C in Bandarawela, 17.5°C in Badulla and 19.7°C in Katugastota.

In contrast, significantly higher minimum temperatures were recorded in coastal and northern districts, with Mullaitivu topping the list at 27.4°C, followed by Colombo at 26.2°C and Galle at 25.9°C.
