Several roads in Matara obstructed due to overflowing of Nilwala Ganga

Many roads in the Matara district have been further obstructed due to the flooding of the Nilwala Ganga with the heavy rains.

Accordingly, the Akuressa-Matara main road is inundated from the Paraduwa area and traffic on this road may be disrupted further.
As a result, the police requested the people to use the Matara road via Akuressa-Horagoda as an alternative route.

The Akurassa-Siyambalagoda road has also been inundated from the Panadugama area.
         
Police further stated that the Akuressa-Kaburupitiya road and the Akuressa-Makandura road have been inundated disrupting vehicular traffic. (Chaturanga Pradeep Samarawickrama)
