Second batch of Pfizer vaccines flown in



Sri Lanka received the second batch of 26,000 doses of "Pfizer" vaccine manufactured in the US brought to the country this morning, the Airport Duty Manager said.

He said the consignment was flown in by Qatar Airways, touched down at the Katunayake Airport around 2.35 am from Doha.

The cargo was stored at the Katunayake Airport Cargo Village freezer facility and subsequently 
transported to the State Pharmaceutical Corporation Central Warehouse in Colombo by the corporation's freezer trucks.

Accordingly, with this current stock of vaccines, the total volume of Pfizer vaccines which have been brought so far stands at 52,000 vials, Sri Lanka State Pharmaceuticals Corporation General Manager Dinusha Dasanayake said. (T.K.G Kapila)
