The Government has decided to close all schools in the Western Province (WP) and North Western Province (NWP) till Friday (April 30), Education Minister G.L. Peiris said.
He said today, the Government schools, pre-schools and Pirivenas in the Western Province and North Western Province will be closed.
"No decision was taken regarding the schools operating in other Provinces. We will let you know immediately if there is a change," the Minister said.
We would like to urgently inform our parents and children that health recommendations should be strictly adhered to in schools. (Chaturanga Samarawickrama)

A government at sixes and sevens. Why oh why is everything done at the eleventh hour. Was it not clear on Saturday that schools should be closed to stop the spread.
