Can ANYONE, especially Minister of Higher Education breathe some sense into the Principles of these schools where students still have to wear TIES??? What an ARCHAIC rule and situation in a hot, Tropical climate!Wearing of Ties for school children need to be stopped forthwith. They are under considerable stress in school and stew under their tight collars when wearing ties! How stupid can one get? For that matter those who wear ties in the adult community in Sri Lanka had better take a look at formal wear in Australia where ties ARE worn but only for FORMAL occasions. Use of 'SAFARI' suits should be encouraged without strangling oneself with with these archaic colonial day ties!! PLEASE listen to sense. MM

This is the future of our nation. It's imperative for our nation to regain self-confidence and become law-abiding peoples, that our young generation is taught and made to practice in their day to day life Human Values(Truth, Righteousness, Peace, Love, and Non-Violence).In the past decade and a half, we have had serious erosion of decent respectful behaviour not only among the young but the general public. Some among the current bunch of politicians have been the primary cause of this decline. We saw the sad spectacle of the effect of this decline in our own parliament recently. Our young people need to be taught that such behaviour does not meet human standards.Who needs to watch filthy movies these days when we have our parliament providing such entertainment free of charge.
