SME concessionary loan schemes to be reviewed: FM

The Finance Ministry today said the loans offered to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) under various concessionary loan schemes introduced by the previous government would be reviewed in accordance with the new government’s policy. 

A Finance Ministry communiqué said the government has clearly understood the crucial role played by SMEs in the national economy.

"The new government believes that the concessionary loan schemes should be deployed after clearly identifying the priority areas of the national economy," it said.

Hence the Finance Ministry said it will re-launch the concessionary loan schemes more broadly and efficiently after a comprehensive study.
